Behind every great event at West Field, there’s an SBO working hard to make it happen!
The Student Body Officers (SBO) at West Field ensure that students have a voice and play an important role in shaping the school culture and various school events. Under the leadership of Mrs. Phister, the SBO group has a unique responsibility within the school, organizing everything from pep rallies to community service projects. For these students, leadership is about more than just a title; they actively work to improve school spirit and foster unity.
Throughout the year, SBO students are seen around the school, coordinating activities and promoting events to ensure everything runs smoothly. Whether it’s helping with homecoming, organizing fundraisers, or setting up for dances, SBO members work behind the scenes to create memorable experiences. The goal is to bring the school together, making every student feel a sense of belonging.
SBO students spend time planning events that touch on many aspects of student life. They handle things like spirit week decorations, school assembly logistics, and organize community service events outside the school. Mrs. Phister enjoys watching them grow into leaders, especially when they take on challenges and handle difficult situations with poise.
In addition to planning events, SBO students also represent their peers in meetings with school administration. They provide valuable feedback, helping ensure student voices are heard on important school issues. SBOs serve as a bridge between students and administration, fostering a positive school culture.
The work of SBO students is crucial, though it’s not always glamorous. It requires commitment, responsibility, and a real desire to improve the school environment. Mrs. Phister emphasizes how SBO students work tirelessly behind the scenes, always looking for ways to make a difference.
For many students, becoming an SBO is a dream come true. It offers the opportunity to develop leadership skills that will last a lifetime. Both Mrs. Phister and the SBO group find their work rewarding, knowing they’ve left a lasting impact on their school and community.
With Mrs. Phister’s guidance, the SBOs will continue to play an integral role at West Field, making sure the school remains a place where students feel inspired, engaged, and involved.
